Senior Automotive Technician

The Role
We're looking for a skilled Senior Automotive Mechanic to join the team at Jon's Auto Repair — a family-owned, ASE Master Certified shop that's been serving St. Louis Park since 1999. The ideal candidate has real experience diagnosing and repairing modern vehicles across engines, transmissions, brakes, HVAC, and electrical systems. You'll work in a well-equipped shop with Mitchell1 and Identifix at your bench, alongside teammates who care about doing the job right.

40 hrs/week · Half-day Fridays

What You'll Do
- Perform routine automotive maintenance — oil changes, tire rotations, brake inspections
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across engines, transmissions, and brake systems
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex vehicle problems
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately
- Welding and aligning components as needed
- Stay updated on new technologies, including ADAS systems
What You Bring
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic
- Proficiency in hand tools and diagnostic equipment
- Strong knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repair techniques
- Experience with diesel engine repair is a plus
- Familiarity with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) technology is advantageous
- Experience working on Air Conditioning Systems
